For an international tourism gathering in Singapore, Madrid Destino wanted to offer guests something that would carry the identity of the city beyond the event.

For an international tourism event in Singapore, Turespaña wanted to offer its partners a gift that felt unmistakably Spanish — elegant, authentic and memorable.

Island Whisper Atelier created a bespoke handcrafted luxury hand fan inspired by the colour, movement and craftsmanship of Spain.

The Inspiration

The creative direction began with a visual world shared by Turespaña: traditional Spanish textiles, flowers, colour, decorative patterns and the movement of flamenco dresses.

Rather than reproducing these references literally, we looked at the details that made them distinctive — their movement, textures and energy — and translated them into a contemporary artistic composition.

The result needed to feel unmistakably Spanish while remaining refined enough for an international tourism audience.

From Inspiration to Original Artwork

The flowing movement of traditional Spanish fabrics became one of the defining elements of the design.

Working by hand in watercolour, we explored vibrant reds, florals and cultural references, gradually transforming the original inspiration into an exclusive artwork created for the project.
