From Spain to Singapore
Island Whisper Atelier is a Singapore-founded creative studio with Spanish roots, working at the intersection of art, craftsmanship, hospitality and destination storytelling.
Founded by Spanish designer and Creative Director Mónica Rodríguez, the studio began with one distinctive object: the handcrafted luxury hand fan.
Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of Spanish fan-making, Mónica reimagined the hand fan as a contemporary canvas for storytelling—transforming architecture, landscapes, culture, colour and the character of a place into original artwork.
Today, the handcrafted hand fan remains the signature piece and creative heart of Island Whisper Atelier. From this foundation, the studio has evolved to create distinctive luxury gifts and coordinated collections for hotels, resorts, restaurants, beach clubs, destinations, premium brands and events worldwide.
From Place to Art
Every project begins with the client, property, destination, brand or occasion—not a fixed product catalogue.
We study the setting, architecture, landscape, culture, colours and distinctive details that give each place or brand its identity. From there, we develop the original artwork, creative direction, materials, products and finishing details specifically for that context.
The artwork may become a signature hand fan or extend into a coordinated collection of scarves, pareos, pouches, bags, guest accessories, keepsakes and presentation packaging.
The result is more than a beautiful object. It is a tangible expression of a place or story—something guests can experience, use and remember.
From Island Whisper Fans to Island Whisper Atelier
Island Whisper began as Island Whisper Fans, with the handcrafted hand fan at the centre of its identity.
As clients began asking Mónica to translate her artwork and creative direction into additional products, the studio naturally evolved into Island Whisper Atelier.
This evolution does not replace the hand fan. It allows the same artistic language to extend into complete hospitality, brand and event collections while preserving the product that began the story.
From one signature piece to a coordinated gifting collection, every project is individually developed and delivered as a finished experience, including creative direction, production, personalisation, quality control, packaging and international delivery.
Meet the Founder
Mónica Rodríguez is the Founder and Creative Director of Island Whisper Atelier. A Spanish designer based in Singapore, her creative perspective has been shaped by art, travel, fashion and a lifelong connection to Mediterranean culture.
Her distinctive hand-fan designs established the visual language of Island Whisper, transforming original artwork into meaningful pieces created for hotels, destinations, brands and special occasions around the world.
Mónica continues to lead the creative direction of every project and works personally with clients throughout the process—from the initial conversation and artwork development to production, finishing and final delivery.
This founder-led approach allows every project to receive attentive communication, considered creative direction and close personal support at every stage.
